Why license us?
We are technology-based and the world’s largest producer of enzymes. We are at the forefront of enzyme technology and pursue a proactive in-licensing campaign focused on technologies which identify, develop, produce and apply the best enzymes in the smartest and most productive ways. We in-license both from industry and academia.

  • We are experienced in commercializing biotechnologies

  • Our markets are growing

  • We are technology-based and committed

  • We want to collaborate

  • We are experienced in all IPR-related matters

What are we interested in?
We are continuously improving our IPR portfolio in our core R&D and business sectors. Currently our main focus is in search of natural extensions to our business.

We welcome technology opportunities in other areas which complement or act synergistically with ours, since radical new solutions are often found by combining technologies.

When submitting a technology, you must be able to warrant that you are the owner, or that the owner has given his/her consent.

The licensing process
It is important to us that we thoroughly evaluate your technology, but also that we provide you with rapid feedback. We have therefore set up a continuous review process for in-licensing.

You will be given the name of the person who will contact you regarding the result of our evaluation. When we receive your technology, a review group responsible for the particular technology or industry will carry out the initial analysis. Each review group will consist of a Novozymes’ scientist, patent attorney and marketing specialist, all of whom will be bound by an obligation to secrecy.

If the group considers that your technology/patent may be of interest to us, our in-house experts in the given field will review your technology in more detail and we may need to contact you for further information. If our review group considers that your technology is not within our areas of interest , you will immediately be notified.

The subsequent license negotiation process for those opportunities that the parties agree to jointly pursue will be handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the specific features of your offer and our interests.

Our licensing process is designed to protect all parties involved. It is important to us that you feel safe and well-treated whether or not we reach an agreement.
