Novozymes second in Denmark in WebrankingT 2003 (December)
For the fifth year in a row, the Swedish firm Hallvarson & Halvarsson carried out the survey which was published in~Danish financial newspaper Borsen. The survey covers 30 Danish companies~evaluated on no less than 99 measuring points. The measuring points were chosen in consultation with financial analysts who know exactly what investors want when they are seeking information on listed companies on the Internet. It is not just a company's investor zone that~is assessed, but the site as a whole, e.g. technology and functionality, corporate information and corporate governance. The survey is carried out across the whole of Europe. However, novozymes.com is not included in the overall European list, which only covers the 150 largest listed companies in Europe.

Among top 15 in best places to work in Denmark (November)
Novozymes was placed no 13 out of a total of 101 Danish companies in this year's survey on best places to work in Denmark, 2003. The survey only covers companies who have paid to be entered.
Novozymes Biotech, Inc. named "Business Leader in Chemicals and Materials" on the "Scientific American 50" (November)
Scientific American's annual list recognizes science and technology contributions from many fields. On November 10 Novozymes Biotech, Inc.(Davis, CA) was named by Scientific American magazine as one of the "Scientific American 50" - the noted magazine's annual list recognizing outstanding acts of leadership in technology from the past year.
Novozy mes wins the Professionals' and Journalists' Prizes at the 2003 Danish Communications Awards (November)
The Danish Communications Awards are held each year by the Danish Association of Communication Professionals. The jury explained Novozymes won both the Professionals' and Journalists' Prize for their professional and systematic work on putting Novozymes on the map.
Annual Report Prize 2003 and best Danish blue chip index report in 2003 (October)
Novozymes won Danish financial newspaper Borsen's Annual Report Prize 2003 for "pioneering work on a holistic annual report".
Besides the main Borsen Annual Report Prize 2003, Novozymes also won the prize for the best annual report from a company in the Copenhagen Stock Exchange's KFX blue chip index.
The Excellent Supplier Award 2003 given to Novozymes China by Unilever
On October 17, Novozymes China won the award of excellent supplier in the 2002 Unilever supplier evaluation conducted in China. This was the third consecutive year since 2001 that Novozymes China was honoured with this award by Unilever.
Novozymes Biologicals named "Virginia Biotechnology Company of the Year" by the VaBio
On October 7 The Virginia Biotechnology Association (VaBIO) announced the winners of two prestigious awards for outstanding service and accomplishment for the states growing biotechnology community. VaBIO named Novozymes Biologicals as the 2003 Virginia Biotechnology Company of the Year.

The 100 best companies to work for in Brazil
Every year the Exame Magazine carries out a nationwide opinion poll to choose the 100 best companies to work for in Brazil and the choice is made by a comprehensive evaluation of the work environment, human resource practices and policies in each organisation. This evaluation is based upon what the employees think of their companies and on the quality of human resources policies. For the first time ever, in 2003, there was a special category award for companies with 100 to 199 employees and Novozymes Latin America Ltda. took part in the opinion poll in this category and was listed as one of 20 companies. The poll was carried out in June 2003.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes
For the third year in a row Novozymes was placed as number one in Europe as well as globally. The results form the basis for ranking 300 companies in 22 countries in one global index (Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes World - biotechnology), as well as placement of 178 companies from 13 countries in one pan-European index (Dow Jones Sustainability STOXX Indexes - healthcare). In both indexes, Novozymes is ranked as number one in its fields (biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry).
Universum Communications
Universum Communications' annual survey among students asking about expectations and considerations regarding their future employer. One finding was that the kno wledge of Novozymes increased again this year. In 2002, 69% of the engineering and science students were familiar with Novozymes. In 2003, the percentage had gone up to 80.

Novozymes ranked no 5 in "Ingenioren" in the survey: the engineering students' preferred place of employment in Denmark.
Gold Image Survey (Danish business magazine: 'Berlingske Tidendes Nyhedsmagasin')
Novozymes ranked no 8 in the annual Gold Image Survey in the Danish business magazine Berlingske Tidendes Nyhedsmagasin, where the 250 biggest companies in Denmark were assessed by 870 Danish managers.
