Novozymes recognized by Industry Week magazine (November)
Novozymes' enzymatic interesterification was named one of six "Technologies of the Year for 2005" by the US-based INDUSTRYWEEK magazine.
The 13th annual INDUSTRYWEEK Technology and Innovation Awards celebrates outstanding achievements and innovations in technology.

Novozymes again chosen as Denmark's best workplace (November)
Novozymes was ranked again as the best workplace in Denmark with more than 1000 employees. In September, about 250 Novozymes employees in Denmark were asked to participate in the survey of "Denmark's Best Workplaces 2004". Based on their responses, Novozymes has been ranked as the best workplace among participating companies with more than 1000 employees in Denmark, and the fifth best among all participating companies in Denmark.
Novozymes chosen as the best working place among students (September)
In the spring Moment Kommunikation conducted a survey among students in order to analyse companies' reputation among students. 10,000 students assessed 91 companies in four key areas; products and services, visions and management, professional development and working climate. Novozymes is on the top on 4 of those.
Novozymes has earned the top position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Group Index in the biotech category (september)
Dow Jones Indexes, STOXX Limited and SAM Group have announced the results of their annual evaluation of 2,500 companies. In both the gl obal and European indexes, Novozymes is at the very top in the biotechnology sector.
The annual review by the DJSI family is based on an assessment of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, and examines issues such as corporate governance, employee development, climate change, supply chain standards and labour practices.
Novozymes' employee publication Spark Magazine awarded employee publication of the year in a large, international competition (June)
Spark magazine took first place when more than 600 employee publications from around the world in 2005 were placed under the microscope by one of the world's most reputed communications agencies - Ragan Communications. Ragan Communications awarded the magazine for being innovative, open and honest, creative and understandable for every employee. Novozymes also won the Award of Excellence for best special publication for its special edition of Spark Magazine in August 2004 entitled "This is our business". Spark Magazine also won a Ragan award in 2004 when it was among the world's ten best employee publications.
Novozymes honoured with Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award 2005 (June)
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) presented the Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM)/Novozymes team with a 2005 Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award for applying enzymes to develop healthier fats and oils for use in applications such as margarine, baking and confectionery. Thomas Nagy, President of Novozymes North America, accepted the award at a ceremony at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington. This is the second Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award presented directly to Novozymes in the past four years.
Novozymes achieves excellent 5th place in Danish ima ge survey (April)
Danish business magazine Berlingske Nyhedsmagasin chose Denmark's most respected companies in their annual image survey: Novozymes moved up the list from 9th place in 2004 to 5th place this year. The survey, which questioned 1,815 Danish business managers, is the most thorough ever in Denmark. It rated companies on nine issues such as innovation, employees, communications, responsibility, financial strength and trustworthiness. Compared to last year, Novozymes improved in all of them. On all nine points Novozymes is rated among the 15 most proficient companies in Denmark.
Novozymes takes third place in Nordic investor relations survey (March)
Novozymes was once again recognised as one of the best at investor relations in Scandinavia. Swedish survey company REGI asked 700 investors from the Nordic countries which Nordic companies they preferred. Three Danish companies - Topdanmark, Ostasiatisk Kompagni and Novozymes - came out as the best at investor relations, better than Swedish and Norwegian competitors, writes Danish business paper Berlingske Tidende. Among the reasons for the relatively high scores for Danish companies is the fact that CEOs are easier to reach in Denmark. Novozymes and the two other companies topping the list are all known for having trustworthy CEOs that investors put faith in, the paper writes.
Novozymes North America selected as one of the Top 10 "Best Employers in North Carolina" (February)
In a program coordinated by Business North Carolina magazine Novozymes North America was designated one of the Top 10 "Best Employers in North Carolina". The final ranking of the "Best Employers in North Carolina" will not be released until the May issue of the business magazine is published. Other Top 10 companies include organisations as SAS Institute, Inc. and Microsoft Corporation.
