Selection criteria
When we select partners, we look to see if the initiative relates to our strategic objective, cf. above, i.e. is the initiative:
- Forward-looking
- Within Novozymes area of interest
- Exceeding conventional thinking
Novozymes does not support the following kind of initiatives:
- Financial contributions to political parties/political campaign efforts
- Grants to individuals (except scholarships or sponsoring of research activities within Novozymes’ field of expertise)
- Contributions to causes which we perceive to be in conflict with our values

Activation
When we enter into partnerships we expect to activate the partnership to both parties’ full satisfaction. This means that we expect a high degree of involvement and for major partnerships we also expect a contract to be drawn up stating terms and conditions of such partnership.
Novozymes definitions
Sponsorship: When we support a unique initiative financially or through the provision of products or services related to Novozymes. In return we expect access to some exploitable commercial and/or branding potential associated with such initiative.
Corporate citizenship: When we support an initiative to show our responsibility towards the community in which we operate. Such initiative is to the benefit of both society and Novozymes. No immediate commercial potential is attached to such support.
Reporting
All Novozymes sites report on a quarterly basis on their activities within this field. This enables us to assess accurately our financial contributions as well as the strategic fulfilment.
