In Bagsværd you will find both Novozymes and Novo Nordisk spread across a large area on i.a. Krogshøjvej. This includes administration, research, laboratories, warehouses and much more.
Novozymes' production is extremely striking. The large granulating tower on the corner of Smørmosevej and Krogshøjvej granulates a large part of Novozymes' enzymes, which is subsequently sent out to customers.
Granulation is the final step in a production process in which the enzymes are fermented.
In Bagsværd Novozymes also has a production plant that makes something very special: crystalline enzymes.
Crystalline enzymes are made in small quantities and used for very special purposes, e.g. in the production of insulin or in milk replacement.
In all, upwards of 100 employees work in Novozymes' production in Bagsværd, where also the firm's headquarters are located.
