CABIN is a SAP e-Procurement system which gather all information about products, prices, deliver time and suppliers in different catalogues. E.g. Laboratory, catering, consumer goods, IT, etc. The system consists of many supplier catalogues which all together contains about 500.000 items. All prices are negotiated; therefore the employee will always get the products at the best possible price within the agreement with the supplier.

In the search engine it is possible to search for specific words and categories to find the product in question. If the product is not in the catalogue – it is possible to make a “describe requirement”. Here the user types details of the product.

For some suppliers, this “describe requirement” is sent directly to the supplier. For other suppliers the requisition is sent to the Executive Buying. Executive Buying will then source the market and find the product for the employee.

The catalogues for the search engine is updated by the suppliers and are approved by the responsible Category Manager in Executive Buying. All products in the catalogue is set up with an image and description text as well as price. Information about the products is provided by the supplier.

Data is transferred from our purchasing system to our catalogue provider. The Catalogue provider distributes the order to the suppliers either by mail or as an XML file which fits directly into the suppliers order system.
