Project collaboration

As a student, Novozymes can work alongside you to provide you with experiences and opportunities to help start a career. We believe the opportunity to learn is equal to both us and to you.

We are a global company with a large international team of employees who span that globe. That's one of the reasons we've chosen to work with students in various areas of study around the world. Working with us gives them a taste of what a modern career is like, but it happens in a real-life situation.

We join forces with many types of students on MSc-, BSc, and PhD projects or internships. After defining the project with you, we will team you up with relevant Novozymes employees who will guide you towards a valuable project outcome and a great learning experience.

For science projects you will typically work with our skilled science teams, and get updated on hands-on experience. Expanding your business understanding in a science-perspective and getting real lab experience is the core of what we offer in science projects.

Example of a science project description: Study of enzyme motion on a substrate - Manipulating enzymes with optical tweezers.

'In collaboration with Novozymes, we are investigatin wheather our optical tweezers setup can be used to study the motion of an enzyme on its substrate. The enzyme we work on at the moment is a lipase, attacking a substrate of a monoacylglycerol in a carrier of phospholipids.

The enzymes are attached to polystyrene beads through a biotin-streptavidin binding. The susbtrate is prepared as vesicles and subsequently put in a perfusion chamber and allowed to cover the bottom part of this perfusion chamber.

With the optical tweezers, we then intend to grab and visualize the bead, and hopefully resolve the enzyme-motion on the substrate'.

To apply for project collaboration, please use our Project Collaboration Guide to capture your wishes for a project collaboration. It makes it easier for us to assess your project - and point you to the right people in Novozymes to help you.
