Inside the factory the enzymes are ready for the formulation process. The customer and the final use of the enzyme determine how the enzyme product is formulated.
Some customers, for example producers of liquid detergents, prefer to have the enzymes in a liquid formulation. Others need the enzyme in a dry form called granulates.
Granulates are made in large continuous horizontal mixers, where the enzymes from the recovery are mixed with salt, cellulose and other ingredients, resulting in particles of about 0.5 mm in size. These are subsequently coated with a layer of polymer in order to reduce the risk of enzyme dust in the final application.
Granulates are a very efficient and safe way to deliver enzymes in a dry form, both for the customer and in the final product containing the enzymes.
