Producing the enzyme

The microbes are grown in our three-storey high fermentation tanks, multiplying to produce the desired enzyme.

It is now time for the major scaling-up of the processes so that the enzyme can be produced in large quantities.

Microorganisms grow by simple cell division, making exact copies of themselves. When this type of growth takes place in closed containers, it is called fermentation.

In large fermentation tanks where all the parameters for the growth of microorganisms can be controlled, the microorganisms multiply by billions in just a few days, secreting the precious enzymes as they grow.

When the tank is full, the liquid containing nutrients, microorganisms and enzymes is filtered, separating the enzymes from the rest of the content.

The enzymes are often sold in liquid form, but they can also be coated with a fine layer of wax or some other substance for dry, dust-free handling. It all depends on the customer's needs.
