Celluclean®

- taking white wider and making colors brighter

Novozymes’ Celluclean® is a new cleaning cellulase that brightens, whitens, and degrades hard-to-remove oat stains.

As increasing traffic and air pollution; and thus particulate soil are making clothes dirtier, consumers’ need for detergents that keep their whites white and colored clothes bright is going up. In addition to whitening problems, consumers also have to deal with hard-to-remove beta-glucan or oat stains. Oats are found in a variety of everyday foods and personal care products, making them impossible to avoid and therefore, important to remove.

We solve these problems with the newest solution in our wide range of bioinnovative detergent enzymes for powder detergents – Celluclean 4500 T.

Whiteness
Cellulases have been used for household washing for nearly two decades to preserve fabric color, ensure anti-graying, and offer satisfying whiteness. Celluclean is a unique cellulase that prevents deposition of particulate soils on cotton fabrics, making clothes cleaner and whiter.

Celluclean takes whiteness one step further than bleaching agents as it does not just cover up these soilings but removes them. Therefore, Celluclean offers a higher degree of whiteness by removing particulate soils that even bleach-containing detergents leave behind.

Preventing soil deposition
Wash and wear damages cotton fibers, resulting in areas with bristly cellulose micro fibrils. These micro fibrils trap particulate dirt during wash – for instance, outdoor dirt – and prevent whites from staying white. Celluclean cleaves off such damaged micro fibrils and releases any captured dirt particles.

Celluclean prevents particulate soil from depositing and thereby not participating in fabric graying. Since Celluclean does not act on the intact, crystalline cellulose fibers, there is no loss of tensile strength.

Keep your stripes bright
End the battle of whether striped clothes go with the whites or the colored clothes in the laundry pile and just wash it all in one cycle – with Celluclean, the whites will remain white and the colors will stay bright.

After a few washes, striped clothes start to look dull, making it hard to see where the colored stripe begins and the white stripe ends. With Celluclean, stripes and colored clothes stay bright, even after several washes.

Go ahead spill your oats
Oats are everywhere – in cereals, in cookies, in snacks, in yogurts, and many other everyday foods; and in face masks and cosmetics and other everyday personal care products. And even a small, almost invisible beta-glucan stain can cause fabric graying as the stain will attract and bind soil both before and during a wash.

When laundry containing beta-glucan stains is washed, some of the stain material is released into the wash water. If the detergent is unable to keep this soiling in suspension or degrade it, it is distributed throughout the wash load to otherwise clean fabrics and redeposits as a beta-glucan film on fabric surfaces, where the beta-glucans keep acting as glue for particulate dirt. Celluclean, which degrades beta-glucan stains, prevents soil deposition and keeps clothes clean.
