Bleach boosting



Enzymes improve the efficiency of modern bleaching operations (ECF/TCF).
The main benefits for mills using xylanase for bleach boosting are:
  • Savings in bleaching chemicals and/or increased final brightness in ECF and TCF sequences
  • Increased production capacity for mills limited by bleaching capacity

  • Reduced AOX levels in mill effluents

Xylanase treatment using Pulpzyme® HC can reduce the kappa number and increase pulp brightness when the same bleaching chemical charges are applied. It also allows savings in bleaching chemicals while maintaining the brightness target.

Application of Pulpzyme HC will allow kraft pulp mills to take advantage of bleach boosting without the need for major equipment modifications or process changes.
