Novozymes has always been committed to quality and our goal is to live up to or exceed our customers expectations. Consequently, Novozymes encouraged establishment of a code of practice to implement the requirements from the new European Feed Hygiene regulation (Reg/183/2005), which sets up hygiene and safety requirements for the whole feed chain.
The Regulation promotes establishment of codes of practice in the animal feed chain, and the European feed additive industry decided to establish a code of practice and a certification system, covering feed additives and premixtures.
The full name of the code is: FAMI-QS Code of Practice for Feed Additive and Premixture Operators, and is found on www.fami-qs.org.
The system is run by FAMI-QS, a non-profit association, and compliance is audited and certified by independent certification bodies.
Novozymes is certified by Danish Standard to manufacture and market enzymes as feed additives and premixtures, and Novozymes appear on the FAMI-QS list of certified companies, published on www.fami-qs.org.
