Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is a multi-stakeholder forum, the mission of which is to develop and disseminate globally applicable sustainability reporting guidelines. These guidelines are for voluntary use by organizations that want to report on performance related to economic, environmental and social aspects of their activities. The guidelines are undergoing development. Third generation, GRI G3, is the latest version, launched in 2006.

Novozymes' reporting in accordance with GRI generally implies that we (on our website and in The Novozymes Report) report in accordance with the GRI guidelines on our vision and strategy, on our profile and on our governance structure and management systems; and that we cover all of the GRI key indicators either by reporting on the indicator or by explaining why we do not report on it. Our reporting also complies with the GRI's reporting principles.
