Anthocyanin

Any of a range of water-soluble blue, purple or red pigments found in the cells of certain plants, e.g. in red grape skin, in many berries and in red cabbage. Anthocyanins are considered bioactive agents that may prevent oxidative processes in the body that play a role in connection with cardiovascular diseases.
