Research Assistant/Research Associate, Microbial Physiology Cell Banking and Automation, RTP

If so, you could be our new colleague in the Microbial Physiology Cell Banking and Automation Department, a dynamic team of scientists and researchers located in Research Triangle Park, NC. We are seeking a results-oriented individual with a high attention to detail and a passion for microbiology and laboratory automation. In this position, you will work with high throughput automated liquid handlers to generate cell banks for thousands of diverse bacterial and fungal strains and will assist other researchers in conducting growth condition screening to drive process improvements in cell banking and subsequent fermentation. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with new technology and scientific databases. You also possess outstanding collaboration skills and customer focus. In this position you need to:
  • Have a Bachelor degree or an Associate degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in biological engineering, microbiology or closely related discipline.
  • Have past experience in the cultivation of microorganisms, including aseptic technique.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently and following experimental designs and protocols.
  • Be a proven team player with exceptional communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work in the United States currently and in the future without sponsorship.
