How we work with universities in North America

Novozymes in North America is proud to partner with many universites across our region.

Novozymes is proud to collaborate with universities throughout the U.S. and Canada to share our passion for bioinnovation and connect with our workforce of tomorrow. We do this in a variety of ways:
  • Zymers participate in guest lectures and special events at local colleges and universities.
  • We enjoy the opportunity to connect with students on a more personal level through professional groups (i.e., AICHE), as well as scientific panel discussions and sponsorship of research project coursework.
  • Throughout the year, we invite students and professors to tour our production and laboratory facilities as a way to bring Novozymes’ bioinnovation magic to life.
We don’t just stop there! Examples of our ongoing outreach can be found across the region.
  • At our R&D site in Davis, California, Zymers work with The Designated Emphasis in Biotechnology (DEB) program at the University of California, Davis. This is an inter-graduate group program that allows Ph.D. students to receive and be credited for training in the area of biotechnology.
  • In Salem, Virginia, we host Chemical Engineering students during the Spring semester to work on a variety of process engineering projects.
  • At our newly inaugurated production facility in Blair, Nebraska, we have partnered with Metropolitan Community College to launch a Process Operations Associate of Science degree program.

Advancing the understanding of biotech

Last but not least are our research collaboration efforts between key universities and Novozymes that serve to further advance our business and academic understanding of bioinnovation at its core. We are excited to continue our work with university partners, like North Carolina State University and Michigan State University.
