Making modern living more modern

The eight-enzyme detergent Danlind Total® is a perfect example of how enzyme-based products can provide consumers with greener, high-performance methods of removing the most resilient stains.

Several years ago Danlind’s enzyme-based, cold-wash product CARE® entered the market and was an instant success story. But where CARE only had four enzymatic ingredients, Danlind’s new Total formula goes even further by incorporating eight.

Specifically formulated to tackle difficult stains left by modern food ingredients, Total’s broad spectrum of enzymes ensures impressive wash performance on tough stains, even in low-temperature washes. Customers can enjoy clean clothes while also reducing needless energy consumption – an increasingly important benefit to today’s consumers.

“We’re setting a world record here,” says Claus Ladefoged, Senior Account Manager at Novozymes. “Total confirms that you can replace chemical ingredients with a multienzyme solution without any compromise on performance.” I believe Total will show other detergent manufactures that adding more enzymes to their formulations is the way forward for the detergent industry.”

Boost performance
Unlike 20 or even 10 years ago, typical problem stains are no longer oil-based but instead come from a range of modern food ingredients such as hard-to-remove thickeners and dyes.

“With Total we wanted to boost the overall performance and also show the effect on new types of stains that can be removed by enzymes,” says Henrik Jørgensen, Laboratory Manager at Danlind and the brains behind Total. “Mannaway® is of interest here because it takes care of stains from chocolate ice cream, baby food, desserts, thickeners, and other such food products. Celluclean® is part of the formulation because it prevents backstaining, especially on polyester fabrics, and improves overall whiteness.”

Total satisfaction
Total is advertised by several major supermarket chains, including Dansk Supermarked, as being tough on stains and appealingly scented.

“We appreciate the value of the Novozymes brand in reassuring consumers that Total is an efficient detergent containing what we believe are the best enzymes on the market,” says Ilse Corneliussen Skannerup, Product Manager for Washing and Cleaning at Dansk Supermarked. “The mix of eight enzymes is a perfect match to what Total stands for – the idea that whatever the washing problem might be, Total is expected to solve it.”

Also listed on the product label are Total’s unique enzymatic ingredients. These are:
