5 in a row – Novozymes is rated gold again by RobecoSAM

Novozymes is ranked as the most sustainable company in the biotechnology sector in The Sustainability Yearbook 2014.

Novozymes was the only company in the biotechnology industry sector to receive a top Gold Class ranking from the Swiss-based sustainability investment group, RobecoSAM.

“Being acknowledged as the most sustainable company in our industry by such a well-respected institution is a wonderful achievement,” says Mads Bodenhoff, Vice President of Corporate Finance at Novozymes. “At Novozymes, we see evidence that sustainability supports better business.”
Only the top 15% of 2,500 companies in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index are included in the RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook.  The best performers among these receive the RobecoSAM Gold Class ranking, which Novozymes achieved for the fifth year in a row.
Sustainability as a differentiator
The news of the Novozymes’ gold ranking came on the same day as the company released their annual report.  The report included a section where the company confirmed that sustainability is an integrated part of their business model and is implemented right across the business value chain.
“Our focus on sustainability gives us a competitive advantage as more consumers look for sustainability as a differentiator,” says Mads Bodenhoff, “Our technology, based on enzymes and microorganisms, delivers bioinnovation that not only creates sustainable earnings growth for shareholders, but also contributes to a cleaner environment and better lives.”
The SAM Sustainability Yearbook
