The EU's food ministers have reached political agreement on harmonizing the rules for enzymes used in the manufacture of foods in the EU.
Since the beginning of Novozymes’ activities in Japan (at the time as Novo A/S), Novozymes Japan has been part-owned by the Japanese firm Mitsui. This has now changed so that Novozymes Japan is 100% owned by Novozymes.

Novozymes A/S (“Novozymes”) has today signed a definitive agreement under which it will acquire the enzyme activities of Biocon Limited (”Biocon”), Bangalore, India. Novozymes does not currently hold any stake in Biocon.
