We have translated this vision into our ambition: to drive the world toward sustainability together with our customers and other business partners. Not alone.

For Novozymes, driving the world toward sustainability means addressing social, environmental and economic challenges. Examples are better utilization of the world’s resources and meeting people’s needs for, among other things, food and consumables. With our biotechnology it is possible to rethink industrial processes and lower the environmental impact throughout value chains.

Examples of our contributions to driving the world toward sustainability are:

Sustainable solutions
First of all, we truly believe that sustainable solutions will drive new business to meet the increasing demand stimulated by regulation and retailers’ toughened requirements for suppliers. With our solutions our customers can lower environmental impact, save resources, replace chemicals, and use less energy and, in some cases, water too.

Stakeholder engagement
Secondly, although Novozymes is a relatively small player, we have

significant experience when it comes to connecting sustainability and innovation.

We are further committed to sharing our insights on how biotechnology can make a significant difference globally in ensuring a better utilization of the world’s natural resources. This is also a recurring theme in our engagement with stakeholders, where we listen and learn about their concerns and interests.

Business integration
Thirdly, we take into account the care-abouts of our stakeholders in our organizational set-up and integration of sustainability into our everyday business activities and strategies. We are widely recognized as a global sustainability leader because of our solutions, our responsible business practices, and our transparency.

In line with our commitment to sustainability integration, we publish an integrated annual report that sets ambitious targets for our business and sustainability performance.
