How it works

JumpStart® is an inoculant containing the naturally occurring soil fungus Penicillium bilaiae (P. bilaiae), which grows along plant roots, releasing phosphate bound in the soil, making it more readily available for the crop to use. JumpStart® is available for corn, canola, wheat, legumes and other crops.

What JumpStart® means for your crop production:

  • • Increased availability of soil and fertilizer phosphate
  • • Improved plant nutrition enables plants to handle environmental pressures better
  • • Better potential for winter wheat survival through enhanced root systems

Active in cool soil temperatures when phosphate is less available, which can help get the crop off to an early start.

The power of partnerships for crop production

JumpStart® is part of the Acceleron BioAg portfolio, a partnership with Monsanto as part of the BioAg Alliance. First announced in December 2013, the BioAg Alliance combines Novozymes’ BioAg operations and capabilities within microbial discovery, development and production with Monsanto’s microbial discovery, advanced biology, field testing and commercial capabilities. The result is a comprehensive discovery, development and commercial collaboration to help farmers globally meet the challenge of producing more with less in a sustainable way – for the benefit of agriculture, consumers, the environment and society at large.
