Welcome to Microbial Formulation Development
You’ll be part of a dynamic team of scientists and research associates located in Research Triangle Park, in the Raleigh area, North Carolina. You’ll work within the internal formulation development team, collaborating with teams across our R&D organization, to develop advanced and scalable formulations and formulation processes for both existing and novel microbe-based products (i.e. bacteria, fungi and yeast).
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Assisting in designing novel microbial formulations, process scale-up and troubleshooting. You will get hands on experience with formulation and process development, automated liquid handling robots, operation of unit operation equipment and analysis of biological samples. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are as comfortable with new technology as you are with interpreting data and presenting results. From developing and running sophisticated experiments to building cross-functional networks, you’ll use your scientific creativity and collaboration skills to turn today’s good idea into tomorrow’s business value. To succeed you must hold:
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years’ experience in a scientific discipline such as Engineering, Microbiology, Chemistry or Food Science
- Good understanding of fundamental microbiology and chemistry
- Be eager to learn new technologies and laboratory skills
- Experience in handling microorganisms, including aseptic technique
- Previous experience with formulation development is preferred but not required
- Experience with analytical chemistry techniques, liquid handling robots or pilot scale equipment would be considered an asset
- Have ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
- Demonstrate success with attention to detail and time management
- Have flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shifting priorities
- Be able to work independently and follow experimental designs and protocols
- Be a proven team player with exceptional communication skills, a desire to learn and develop new skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work in the United States currently and in the future without sponsorship.
