has chosen Novozymes for its 2009 Sustainable Business 20 (SB20) List. The purpose of the SB20, now in its eighth year, is to showcase innovative, model companies that are leading us towards the ultimate goal of a sustainable society. The list is presented in the Progressive Investor newsletter published by, which tracks and analyzes sustainable stocks.

The SB20 List consists of two overlapping categories of companies: Green Pioneers – companies that offer green products or services; and Corporate Pioneers – companies that offer conventional products or services and are greening their internal operations and product lines.

In 2008, also added a “Core List” of recognized businesses that are outstanding examples of excellence in their fields. This list features companies that have been on the SB20 List four or more times and are therefore considered “SB20 Members for Life.”

Novozymes’ has appeared on the SB20 List in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 (core), and now 2009 (core).
Every year publishes its SB20 List of the 20 most innovative companies in the world that contribute significantly to creating an environmentally sustainable society. The aim of the list is to help media, NGOs and investors identify leading companies and show what is required of companies to become classified as sustainable.
