The world’s largest fast moving consumer goods company, Procter & Gamble (P&G), has named Novozymes as "Business Partner of the Year" for the fourth year in a row. Procter & Gamble announced the recognition at a ceremony that took place on October 27, 2011 in Cincinnati.
“To win this award again means a lot to us. It proves that our customer appreciates and recognizes our innovative solutions for the Household Care Industry. Besides that, it is very unique that we have been awarded for the fourth year in a row, which tells me that we are delivering great products, insight and innovation, in a very consistent way,” says Peder Holk Nielsen, Executive Vice President for Enzyme Business at Novozymes.
Novozymes is the world leader in bioinnovation and supplies enzymes to several detergent manufacturers. Enzymes improve the performance of detergents by enabling improved stain removal, garment care, and general wash performance. Because of their unique catalytic action, enzymes are particularly useful ingredients in low-temperature detergents and concentrated detergents.
Recognition of top performer suppliers
P&G has about 75,000 suppliers and among these, 12, including Novozymes, received the highest honor of being named ‘External Business Partner of Excellence’. Novozymes was recognized as ‘Business Partner of the Year’ and ‘External Business Partner of Excellence’ for strong commitment to innovation and supply excellence.
Just how important suppliers are to P&G was explained by P&G Chief Purchasing Officer, Rick Hughes: “I congratulate all of our award winners, especially those who were recognized as ‘Business Partner of the Year’. Our external business partners are an important part of the Company’s ability to innovate and to grow, and are critical to the work we do at P&G every day.”
Since 2008, P&G has committed to meeting annually with its top performing suppliers to recognize and celebrate those partners that have demonstrated their excellence in a number of categories associated with commercial, operational, innovation, and relationship performance.
