Science Magazine: Novozymes is top three best employer in the world

Science Magazine ranks Novozymes among the companies with the best reputations as employers.

Science Magazine’s annual Top Employers Survey 2018 polls employees in the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and related industries.  For the fourth consecutive year, Novozymes ranks among the top ten best companies in the world.

"We are very honored to once again be recognized as one of the most attractive employers. Novozymes develops biological solutions to some of the most urgent challenges of the world and our employees are very proud of what we do and motivated by our purpose to contribute to a more sustainable world," says Claus Crone Fuglsang, Chief Science Officer at Novozymes.

Respondents to the web-based survey rated companies based on a number of characteristics, including financial strength, easy adaptation to change and a research-driven environment. They were also asked whether the company treats its employees with respect and if its work-culture values align with employees’ personal values.

"An organization is only as good as its people and the success of our company relies on our dedicated and competent employees. Their recognition of Novozymes as a great place to work, where you can develop personally and professionally, means a lot for our ability to attract talents and remain a global game-changing company," says Claus Crone Fuglsang.

World leading bio tech company

Novozymes is the world’s largest producer of industrial enzymes and microorganisms. Its biotechnology is used by companies all over the world to save on energy, water and raw materials in a wide range of products. From laundry detergents, to biofuels, animal feed and crops. In 2017, the worldwide application of Novozymes’ technology helped customers reduce their CO₂ emissions by an estimated 76 million tons, equivalent to taking 32 million cars off the road.

One in five of the 6,500 employees work in research and development and Novozymes invests 13% of its total revenue into research each year.

"We are an innovation driven company and keep expanding into new areas which helps grow top line and profitability. Over the last years, 25% or more of our sales derive from new products.  Therefore, it means a lot for us to be recognized as a top science employer," says Claus Crone Fuglsang.
