How do enzymes work in acid bating of wet blue, pickled sheepskins and double face
The non-homogeneity of wet-blue, pickled sheepskins and double face causes problems for tanneries. A secondary, acid bating step improves consistency and uniformity.
The non-homogeneity of wet blue, pickled sheep skins and double face make them challenging for tanneries. A secondary, acid bating step improves the uniformity of hides and skins sourced from various origins.
Acid bating or re-bating is this secondary step. It further improves tanning and finishing processes for these raw materials. Acid bating removes wrinkles and improves evenness, softness, and uniformity in the dyeing process.
By reducing performance differences in hides and skins sourced from various origins, acid bating enzymes allow tanneries to standardize subsequent processing. That makes their production easier to manage.
